Report, DFW

1. The water in DFW, for reasons unknown, smells. Even if I’m staying at the Hotel Lumen and showering in their Showers of Pure Delight, I still don’t feel squeaky clean because after I have this dusky, metallic smell. And drinking said water? I feel it has driven me to illness twice in a row.

2. Belmont Hotel is the Texas version of The Standard in WeHo. And I don’t care what you say, Flynn Dekker, I love The Standard.

3. The Balcony Club is truly the only place worth your time in the land of stripmalls and freeways. It’s dark, weird, there’s a painting of Dopey on the wall near the bathroom, and there’s live jazz and Makers. C’mon, this is really it.

4. I am honestly going to miss Andrea and Flynn more than I think I realized. It didn’t seem real until yesterday after the photo shoot when I was thinking I’d talk to Andrea today on the phone about changes or timelines, but I don’t work there anymore. They are really the greatest and I’m making a vow now to not let months pass before I see them again. And nothing’s more serious and binding than vowing on Tumblr, right?
